THE ASK
Partner with an existing activewear retailer to create flats for a women’s athleticwear line using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign. Pick a country to influence the patterns, colors, and design of the line.

BACKGROUND
My best friend wears the hijab and would often complain to me about dressing for the gym as it was hard to find fashionable modest activewear. I was certain I wanted to center my collection around modest wear, and chose Afghanistan as my country of inspiration as my close friend originates from there. This collection is an effort to diversify American active wear brand Fabletics by introducing modest options to test the market.

Using Adobe Photoshop, I created a mood board and pulled icons, drawn in Illustrator, and colors for my final patterns.
PATTERNS
The final pattern sheet made in Illustrator reflects two colorways in each pattern that are used within the collection.

THE OUTCOME
This project was crucial in developing my skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. I grew confident in my abilities to creatively design which prepared me for later in my college career as I developed full collections. And, diving into the activewear market opened my eyes to the gaps in modest wear as the consumer demand for them grows, especially in Western countries.
