DARE TO KNOW
Are you ready to meet me?
THE ASK
Create a fashion forecast for a designated market for spring/summer 2024. Conduct thorough research to develop a theme and abstract it to predict colors, textiles, and looks.
MEET THE TEAM
MY ROLE
I was tasked with majority of the writing and research used to build our concept and develop our theme. I wrote our justification essay and script and completed the textile portion of the forecast. I found literary and historical influences for our forecast through my personal inspirations and extensive research.

CONCEPT
Our gender neutral spring/summer 2024 forecast, Dare to Know recognizes a blossoming, modern Age of Enlightenment where we are blending modern styles with classical influences. Entering our own post-pandemic enlightenment period, we are focused on self development, expression without judgment, social activism, and grounding ourselves spiritually. We are learning to blend the cold, logicality of technology with the lively human experience. Learning to live with each other and with the environment we have created for ourselves.
IDEATION
Using the concepts and themes we developed, we created a page of influences, ranging from literature to film to individual figures to represent the core ideals of our forecast. Drawn directly from these influences are the names of the colors in our color story with imagery reflecting nature, self-identity, and the juxtaposition of human life and the unknown. Finally, we developed our fabric forecast, a blend of modern textiles influenced by historical fashions.
THE OUTCOME
My team was selected as the Forecast Project Winner, giving us the opportunity to display our work as part of the merchandising showcase for the Process 2022 Departmental Fashion Event. We were able to speak with donors and visitors about our work, detailing our process, and explaining our concept. My enthusiasm throughout this project led me to pursue a role at Fashion Snoops, where I began my journey as a Culture Team Intern, and was subsequently promoted to the Freelance Culture Team Researcher.
