VCUarts Annual Departmental Fashion Event & Runway Show
MY ROLE
As Co-Director of the Model Committee, I managed 65 models and collaborated with VCU faculty and industry professionals to direct events like Model Call, Model Workshops, Jury-Garment Selection, Fittings, and Back of House on the day of show.
Facilitated Model Call where 200 models auditioned to walk in our show.
Oversaw Jury photography where 130 garments were photographed for final selection by industry & alumni judges.

Directed fittings week in collaboration with design faculty.
Fittings Week
Choreographed the runway for the final show at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
Coached models during dress rehearsal.
Led back-of-house on the day of show & cued the runway.

THE OUTCOME
As Co-Director of Model Committee, I became an effective, kind, and inspiring leader. I had the opportunity to collaborate with industry professionals, design faculty, and my amazing team to create a runway show that beautifully displayed the hard work of VCU Fashion Design students. I learned skills in event planning, creative direction, runway production, and, most importantly, leadership and collaboration. The skills I learned from Access led me to New York Fashion Week where I volunteered at shows and dived deeper into the world of runway production.
